Actress Gabrielle Union Sued by Dwyane Wade’s Ex-wife for $50k



Dwyane Wade’s bitter divorce battle from Siohvaughn Funches has become a whole lot messier.

The estranged wife of the NBA star is seeking $50,000 in damages against his new girlfriend, actress Gabrielle Union, whom she alleges has caused her two children emotional distress.

Funches claims the actress “engaged in sexual foreplay” with Wade in front of his sons, Zaire, 8, and Zion, 2, while on an unsupervised visit to his Miami home, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The suit also alleges that Wade’s oldest son was allowed to play unsupervised in or around the Miami home’s pool at night. Wade and Union allegedly ignored the child, whose “screams and cries” eventually caught the attention of Wade’s mother, Jolinda Wade.

In addition, the suit claims the younger son nearly drowned while in Wade’s care.

Wade allegedly orchestrated a meeting between Union and his children, where he introduced her as his “girlfriend” and said “that is why your mom and I are going to divorce,” according to the suit.

Funches claims Union’s “extreme and outrageous conduct” with Wade has caused her oldest son to seek medical treatment for stress and anxiety, as well as develop nervous habits, headaches and hair loss.

Wade, 28, recently filed for sole custody of the couple’s two sons, a move which reportedly prompted Funches to add Union to the lawsuit, reports Gossip Cop.

He says he is “shocked” by the “baseless and meritless” lawsuit filed by his ex.

“I am deeply saddened and disappointed that Siohvaughn has used our sons once again as pawns and is now lashing out at Gabrielle, who is an innocent party,” Wade tells TMZ.com. “It is clear that this is a desperate attempt to retaliate against me for seeking sole custody of our children and requesting that the court have her undergo a psychiatric examination.”

He adds, “My primary concern is my children and actions such as this only inflame the situation and are harmful to their well being.”

A rep for Union, 37, also denies the claims, saying, “Each and every allegation made is entirely false.”

“These false accusations were previously made approximately one month ago in family court. Not only was Ms. Union not named a defendant at that time but the court ultimately rejected these claims as frivolous,” the rep added. “Gabrielle apologizes to the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois for tying them up with erroneous claims when there are real victims who should be receiving the legal attention they need.”

The Ultimate Fighter is a reality television series and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition, originating from the United States, and produced by Spike TV and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). On this show, professional MMA fighters that have yet to make a big name for themselves are situated in a house outside of Las Vegas, Nevada and compete against each other for the title of The Ultimate Fighter, winning a six-figure, multi-fight contract with the UFC.

For the first four seasons, prospect UFC fighters were selected in two weight classes. The fighters are divided into two teams, irrespective of weight class, each team coached by a current UFC headliner. The teams then compete (in a manner which varies by season) to determine which team would have the right to pair one of their own fighters against an opponent of their choice in the same weight class to an MMA match, the loser being eliminated from competition. At the end of a season, the two remaining fighters of each weight class are placed in a single-elimination tournament, where the title of Ultimate Fighter is awarded to the winner. Seasons five to seven, ten and eleven have only featured one weight class each.

The show features the daily preparations each fighter makes to train for competition and the interactions they have with each other living under the same roof. Day-to-day events on the show are overseen by UFC president Dana White. White has attributed the UFC's success to the popularity of The Ultimate Fighter.

With the exception of the season finales, fights on The Ultimate Fighter are sanctioned by the Nevada Athletic Commission as exhibition matches and do not count for or against a fighter's professional record. This is done to keep the results from going public before the air date.

Last night, Nokia finally revealed its latest 12-megapixel HD handset, the Nokia N8 (leaked pictures came in as early as two months ago here). It’s got a large camera sensor that rivals most point-and-shoot cameras out there.

This could be the most cameraphone Nokia has ever built. Nokia N8 uses a 1/2 inch (1/1.9″) CMOS sensor 30% larger than most compact digital cameras with a maximum shutter speed of 1/1000 of a second (aperture F2.8; focal length 5.4). Video recoding can go up to 720p HD @ 25fps.

That large storage option (16GB internal + up to 32GB external) should be enough for doing all that HD video recording and large photo file size. The AMOLED capacitive touch screen should make video playback really nice and crisp although the 1200mAh battery seemed a little lacking for all that juice-guzzling features (a number of earlier Nokia handsets have 1500mAh batteries already).

The Nokia N8 is set to be released by 3rd quarter of 2010 with an estimated price of Php22,000 before taxes.

As for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, the new handset is basically a 3G-equipped (HSDPA 3.6 Mbps) version of the old model plus a minor upgrade of the WiFi to draft-N.

Even the design and specs of the BB Bold 9650 isn’t that much distinguishable to the recently released Bold 9700. Most probably, this could be a cheaper version of the 9700. We’ll know once we get the official local release.
