LG is preparing to launch another dual SIM phone for both Asian and South American markets. Called the LG GX200, this candybar phone has a 2-inch 128 x 160 display, a 1.3MP built-in camera, dual SIM card slots, a microSD card slot, a music player, an FM radio, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 1,500 mAh battery. The LG GX200 will retail for less than $200.
 
Alltel Sells BlackBerry Curve 8530



Alltel has started selling the BlackBerry Curve 8530. The carrier sells the phone for $49.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with activation of a 1-year service contract and qualifying Smart Choice Pack. Smart Choice Packs start as low as $69.99 per month and include unlimited data, email and Web access. As a reminder, the BlackBerry Curve 8530 features a large full QWERTY keyboard, a trackpad for easy navigation and dedicated media keys that are smoothly integrated along the top of the handset, giving customers an easy, convenient way to control their music and videos. Additional features include a built-in GPS with BlackBerry Maps and a geo-tagging functionality, Stereo Bluetooth support, HTML web browsing, a 256MB of internal flash memory, a 2MP camera with digital zoom and video recording and expandable storage memory via microSD/SDHC slot supporting up to 32GB.
 

DOCOMO Will Launch Xperia X10 In Japan



NTT DoCoMo has decided to launch the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in the Japanese market this April. Powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, the Xperia X10 has a 4.0-inch touchscreen capacitive display with WVGA (800×480) resolution, an 8-megapixel shooter with Autofocus, LED flash, image stabilizers, smile and face detection, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi b/g. The smartphone is also compatible with FOMA HIGH-SPEED, DOCOMO’s HSUPA/HSDPA data-communication service for extra-fast 2.0 Mbps uplinks and 7.2 Mbps downlinks

Sony Ericsson Vivaz (Kurara U5) Gets Official



The much awaited Sony Ericsson Vivaz (aka Kurara U5) is finally official. This high-end smartphone is likely to be released in the next few months, however, the price remains unknown at the moment. To refresh your memory, the Vivaz boasts a 3.5-inch full touchscreen display, an 8.1MP autofocus camera, GPS, WiFi, HSDPA, HD video recording (720p), a 3.5mm headset jack and runs on the Symbian S60 operating system.
Motorola MOTOROI Available Stateside



Motorola is ready to launch the MOTOROI in the US market in March 2010 via Verizon Wireless. For your info, the handset comes jam packed with a full touchscreen display, a 3.7-inch LCD display, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS support, an 8-megapixel camera and a 720p video playback via HDMI out. Additionally, the phone has an 8GB of internal memory, which is expandable via a microSDHC memory card slot.
Microsoft Zune Phone Rumors




Word has it that Microsoft will launch the Zune phone later this year. Jefferies analyst, Katherine Egbert, states that Microsoft will be debuting its own phone sometime in the next 2 months, probably at Mobile World Congress (MWC) or CTIA in Las Vegas. She also believes that the Zune Phone will feature a 5MP camera and 720P video support. Stay tuned for more updates.
A New Clamshell Phone From Toshiba Introduced In Japan



Japanese mobile phone operator, KDDI has introduced a new clamshell phone from Toshiba namely the E08T. Featuring a waterproof enclosure, the E08T offers a 3-inch FWVGA display, a 3.2MP camera with autofocus, a 100MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, GPS, infrared, BREW OS and supports both GSM and CDMA connectivities. The Toshiba E08T will become available in Japan this month for unannounced price yet

LG will launch its InTouch Max GW620 Android smartphone in UK, which will be offered by T-Mobile and Virgin Media. The LG InTouch Max boasts a 5-line QWERTY and touchscreen keyboard, a Social Networking Manager built-in application (Linkbook), and Auto Face-tagging, which automatically recognizes your friend’s face on a tagged photo. The Face-to-Action feature allows you to call, SMS, MMS or join your friend’s social networking site simply by touching their face in a picture. The LG InTouch Max also has a 5-megapixel camera, a 3-inch touchscreen display, and a 1500mAh battery.
Vodafone UK Launches Samsung Genio Slide



Samsung has announced the availability of Samsung Genio Slide (aka CorbyPro B5310) in the UK market via Vodafone. The handset is sold for free with a 2-year contract agreement of at least 15 per month, or an 18-month contract of at least 25 per month. So here are the specs, a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3MP camera, a 120MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 16GB), an FM radio, WiFi, GPS, HSDPA 3G, a 3.5mm headset jack and provides quick access to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace 
Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Games Edition



Nokia has rolled out the new games edition of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, which comes preloaded with a total of 20 games from renowned developers EA Mobile and Gameloft. In case you didn’t know, the phone features a 3.2-megapixel AF camera, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, and a 70MB internal memory, and an included 4GB microSD card. Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t support 3G. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Games edition is currently available in the US for $269.

You are lucky if you are living in the UK, because the HTC Bravo will be available in Europe. For your info, the HTC Bravo is a little bit similar to the Nexus One. T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Edition



T-Mobile will release the myTouch 3G Fender Edition on January 20, 2010. T-Mobile has teamed up with legendary guitarist Eric Clapton to promote this special edition cell phone. In case you didn’t know, the myTouch 3G Fender Edition features a 3.5mm headset jack and an included 16GB MicroSD card. The phone comes preloaded with Eric Clapton hit songs like “Wonderful Tonight,” “Layla,” “Rock ‘N’ Roll Heart” and “My Father’s Eyes.” There are also several songs from Avril Lavigne, Wyclef Jean and Brad Paisley. Samsung Russia has officially announced the upcoming release of Samsung C3510 in Russia. The phone will go on sale in Russia starting late January for 5990 Rubles (about $200). Specs-wise, the handset features a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 1.3MP camera, a 30MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, a music player, an FM radio with RDS, a web browser, widgets, social networking integration, Samsung’s DNSe technology, a 3.5mm headset jack and Bluetooth connectivity 
iPhone 4G Will Be Released In June

Word has it that the next generation of iPhone will be launched in June 2010. According to Telecoms Korea, Apple will likely name its new smartphone “iPhone 4G”. It is said that KT (South Korea’s second largest mobile carrier) has already signed a deal with Apple for releasing the iPhone 4G sometime in June this year. The new iPhone 4G will feature “two camera modules for video-call services”, an improved battery lifetime, and a mobile TV service (for Korea only). However, there is no official confirmation from Apple so far. Stay tuned for more updates. 
Lenovo’s LePhone Android Phone



The LePhone is Lenovo’s first smartphone that comes jam packed with a 3.7-inch touchscreen that can be paired with a keypad/dock that houses an oval full QWERTY keypad with a navigation system in the center. In addition, the cell phone is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, two standard cameras and Android 1.6 OS. The Lenovo LePhone will be launched in China during the first half of this year. Pricing info is still unavailable.
Nokia the leading mobile phone maker announced the launch of Nokia Money the mobile Payment services enabling consumers to pay through direct from their Nokia mobile phones in India. To offer the Mobile Payment service the company tie-up with Yes Bank. The Nokia Money Services will allow mobile phone users to transfer money to another person by using the person’s mobile phone number and also top up the prepaid card or pay utility bills.
As a commercial pilot project initially the services will be launched in Pune (Maharashtra) and will also be available through Nokia’s retail network. Transactions can be done over SMS, IVR, WAP, JAVA and FIRE. The service will be offered over a Mobile Payment platform developed by Obopay which is already partnering Yes bank.
According to the Gerhard Romen, Director for Alliances, “Nokia Money is being tested in India because it has 1.2 billion people and over 500 million mobile subscribers. For many of those users, their mobile phone is their only link to the Internet because they do not have PCs, he said. People who don’t have credit or debit cards will now be able to transact on line with the new service”.
